1.  The Lady Bruins basketball teams split their home opener last night against Danville.  7th grade lost 21-32 to a tough Danville squad.  8th grade Lady Bruins defeated the Lady Warriors by a score of 36-17. Leading scorers were Belle S. with 15, Kenna K. with 10, Adrie T. with 5, and Korey B. with 4. Girls are back in action tonight at home against Cascade. 

2.  Good luck to the 8th grade Bruins as they begin their Sagamore Conference tournament championship run at Northridge tonight, tipping off at 6:00.   
 
3.  Also good luck to the wrestlers who will travel to Crawfordsville Middle School for a 5:30 meet start time.  Wrestlers, you will ride bus #9 down to the high school today.  Meet in Coach Cardoza's room.
 
4.  FCA will meet tomorrow morning at 7:30am in the gym.
 
5.  Get your Bruins winter hat while supplies last!  Just $12 each.  Purchase in the main office.

Wednesday, January 17

1.  Results from last night's athletic events:

The 8th grade boys basketball team won their seventh straight game over conference foe Southmont by a score of 43 to 31 last night.  Balance scoring by the team included:  Mohr 2, Goodin 8, Bear 7, Depinet 9, Covey 4, Gliva 8, Elam-2 banked in free throws,  And a 3 pointer at the buzzer for Hamstra to end the first half!!  
 
-  The 7th grade Bruins  lost last night to Southmont 49-39. Cooper S.  led the team with 9 points
 
The 8th grade Lady Bruins basketball team defeated Brownsburg East with a score of 53-18. Leading scorers were Kenna K. with 22, Belle S. with 18, and Adrie T. with 10. A Great team effort
 
 The 7th grade Lady Bruins lost to Brownsburg East bringing their record to 1-1. Leading scorers were Kylie H. with 12 and Mckenzie W. with 6. Leading rebounders were Hardin with 8 and Walters with 5. The girls basketball team will Host Danville tonight in their Season Home opener. Game time is 5:30!  Girls basketball teams will meet in the Makerspace Lab again today after school.
 
- The wrestlers traveled to Plainfield last night for a double dual meet with Plainfield, Avon North and Speedway.  Bruin Carson C. went undefeated on the night and Keedyn P. got a pin against Speedway.
 
2.  8th grade boys basketball team, you will be staying at the middle school today after school for your practice.  DO NOT GO TO PITTSBORO!   You will practice free throws with the 7th grade team today here at the middle school.
 
3.  In Boxtop news, Mr. Gossett is now leading Mrs. Wiley''s PRIDE in the January competition by only 25 boxtops!  Also - We are anxious to hear Mr. Ward's song for December!  What will it be?
 
4.  If you are interested in the English Bowl, there will be a quick meeting tomorrow morning in Mrs. Diagostino's room during Pride to distribute binders.

Tuesday, January 16

1.   Updates on basketball games from last week:

- The 8th grade Bruins boys won their sixth straight game against a tough Speedway team on Thursday night, 41 to 37.  The boys were able to make some plays in the end to wrap the game up.  Once again, the Bruins out rebounded their opponents.  
 
- The 8th grade Lady Bruins defeated Brownsburg West in their season opener last Thursday evening, 34-21.  Leading scorers were Kenna K. with 20, Belle S. with 8, and Adrie T., Korey B., and Jozzy L. each with two points.
 
- Both the 7th grade girls and boys teams also won last Thursday evening, but no scores available, making all  Bruins teams  4-0 on the night in basketball.
 
2.  Up next for the boys will be Southmont at home tonight, tipping off at 5:30.  Boys, meet in the auditeria after school today.
 
3.  And the Lady Bruins will be on the road again tonight, this time taking on Brownsburg East at 5:00.  Girls, you will meet in the MakerSpace lab after school today.
 
4.  Cheerleaders, meet in the LGI room after school today.
 
5.  The Bruin Wrestlers will start their season tonight in a meet at Plainfield Middle School.  Wrestlers-take  bus #9 over to the High School today and meet Coach Cardoza in his classroom -- B106. He will pass out singlets and head gear when you get there. Good luck tonight at your meet against Plainfield, Avon North & Speedway.

1.  The Lady Bruins Basketball teams open up their seasons tonight at Brownsburg West.  Tip off time is scheduled for 5:00.  Lady Bruins, you will meet in the MakerSpace Lab today after school.  Bus departs for Brownsburg at 3:45.

 
2.  The Boys basketball teams will host the Sparkplugs of Speedway tonight starting at 5:30pm.  Teams, meet in the auditeria after school today.  
 
3.  Good luck to both our Lady Bruins and Bruins basketball teams tonight.
 
4.  FCA is scheduled to meet tomorrow morning at 7:30am in the gym.  However, if there is a 2-hour delay, we will meet at 9:30 in the morning.

Wednesday, January 10

1.  In basketball action last night, the 8th grade Bruins won their fifth straight game against a much improved Frankfort team.  The Bruins defeated the hot dogs 43 to 34.  The Bruins did a great job on defense and once again out rebounded their opponent.  They are back in action Thursday night at home against Speedway.

2.  The 7th grade Bruins also defeated the Hot Dogs, but no score or details are available.

3.  All Pro Dads will meet tomorrow morning at 7:00am in the LGI room.
