The following letter was sent to all school parents today.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Interim Superintendent for the 2019-2020 school year. I am very excited to be given this opportunity to lead such an outstanding school district. In my first few days, I have heard and seen great things happening in our schools. I look forward to getting to know all of you over the coming weeks and to helping your children academically achieve great things as a student at NWHSC!
Prior to coming to NWHSC, I served a handful of school districts around central Indiana. I have held administrative roles as dean, assistant principal, principal, executive director, as well as Chief Talent Officer at the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE). I have been an administrator at both public and charter schools, as well as being involved in creating teacher recruitment programs, along with training and professional development for school principals. Most recently, as the Chief Talent Officer for the IDOE, I was a member of the State Superintendent’s cabinet and oversaw seven departments, including Educator Effectiveness, Licensing, Student Services, Transportation, Food and Nutrition, Higher Education, and School Safety.
Over the course of the next few weeks, I will be announcing opportunities for parents to come to their student’s school and have coffee with me. I hope you will be able to take a few minutes out of your busy schedule and stop by to say “hello”. Please watch for the announcement of those dates and times. I look forward to serving you and your students as your Interim Superintendent.
Yours in Education,
Scott Syverson, Ph.D
