TWHS Announces New Principal

Rund Taking Reins as Tri-West Principal

The North West Hendricks School Corporation Board of Trustees has named Matt Rund the new principal of Tri-West High School.

NWHSC Superintendent Dr. Scott Syverson said, “Mr. Rund has a proven track record of success as a teacher, department chair, school administrator and leader! His experiences and high expectations make him the perfect person to lead Tri-West High School. We are thrilled to have Mr. Rund on board!”

Rund’s versatile background includes teaching Speech and Theatre, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and Advanced College Project Courses. Besides teaching, in his 25-year career, Rund was the Performing Arts Department Chair at Fishers High School and also served as the musical director and coach of a three-time state champion speech and debate team. In 2017 he became Assistant Principal at North Central High School, where he was responsible for buildings and grounds, security, and the class of 2023 Grade Level Support Team.

Awards and recognition include: the Indiana High School Forensics Coaches Hall of Fame induction in 2010 and Indiana Speech and Debate Teacher of the year in 2011. Rund was also awarded a Golden Apple from the Broadway League of America and was named Fishers High School Teacher of the Year in 2012.

Rund has two Master of Science degrees from Butler University, one in Effective Teaching and the other in School Administration. The Fairland native is a four-year US Army veteran and he and Donna, his wife of 29 years, have five children.
