About the School

North Salem Elementary is located in the northwest section of the school district in the town of North Salem.
The enrollment area is rural, with the population being the least dense of the two elementary districts. The enrollment area consists of the townships of Eel River and Union.

Regular classroom instruction is supplemented each day with a special subject area class.  These classes are PE, Art, Music, Library, and Computer Lab.

There is a resource room and support staff for Special Education as well as Title I support in Reading and Math.
The average class size at North Salem Elementary School is 20 students.

The staff in this building are united in their efforts and are dedicated to supporting students as they strive to reach lofty goals.


Our current Corporation enrollment is just under 1900 students in grades K-12.

School Features

The North Salem Elementary School building consists of two older, but remodeled, sections and one new section which was completed in 2001.
Featuring air conditioning, a large high-quality gym, pleasant cafeteria, phones in all rooms, complete communications system, comfortable library and a beautiful playground.  We serve students in grades K-5.
