Bruin Bites 9/3/21

Hello Bruins - Here are the Bruin Bites heading into this long weekend!

Picture Retakes -

Inter-State Studios will be here on Tuesday, September 7th for picture retake day.  Pictures will start at 9AM and run the entire school day.  Students will be called down by last name to the atrium by Door 5.  Seniors will be called separately because of camera settings.  We will make sure to call seniors down in both the morning and afternoon due to alternate schedules and Area 31.  Please remind your senior to pick the pose they want in the yearbook after their photo session and tell the photographer.

Retakes are for any student that did not like their picture taken at registration, any student that missed registration day pictures, or any new student.  Also any at-home-learners that wish to come in for pictures can check in at the main office Tuesday and get pictures taken.

Students wishing to have a replacement package printed, must return the original picture package to the photographer on retake day.

Please use this code for ordering pictures  https://inter-state.com/flyerentry/61944G

Underclassmen can use this code all year for ordering school pictures.  Underclassmen will NOT receive a proof. Senior parents will receive an email a few weeks or so after picture day to view and order pictures online.  Seniors take multiple poses and editing takes longer. The email will be sent from Inter-State Studio.  Make sure to check Spam and Junk folders for this email.

Covid Testing Procedures -

NWHSC policy states if any person in your household is being tested for COVID, all members of the household are required to stay home from school until test results are received.  Please notify the school nurse, Lorinda Gibbs, at extension 4010, if your student will be absent from school due to family member or individual testing. Test results can be scanned to the nurse's email gibbslo@hendricks.k12.in.us or faxed to the main office at 317-994-5106. Students can return to school after negative results are received.  Mrs. Gibbs will advise on quarantine and return dates in the event of a positive test result.  Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Gibbs.

Quarantine Protocols - It is the expectation that all students on quarantine complete their assignments in Google classroom during their quarantine. Those students who are ill need to inform the school of their illness.

E-Learning days and Area 31 - Students who take Area 31 courses are expected to report to Area 31 on E-Learning days. Transportation will still be provided for those who need it.

E-Learning days and Ivy Tech Courses - Ivy Tech students are still required to attend Ivy Tech courses in-person, unless the professor decides otherwise.

Class Ring Orders September 9th - Freshmen will be able to submit their class ring orders to Jostens on September 9th during lunch.

College Applications

It is very important to research college application deadlines, requirements, and admissions standards. You will find college applications on the specific school’s admissions site. Many colleges use the Common Application in which you can apply to multiple colleges through the Common Application. Visit www.commonapp.org for a list of member colleges. Most colleges will accept official transcripts to be sent through Parchment. To request your transcripts to be sent, please visit: https://www.parchment.com/ to create an account.
