Bruin Bites 2/25/22

  1. Junior Homerooms - It is very important that all Juniors be in their homeroom the next few weeks. We are preparing for our SAT day on March 4th.

  2. March 4th is an E-Learning Day for all except all Juniors who will be taking the state mandatory SAT.  Juniors will report that morning at 8:30am and will be done by 12:40PM. There will not be bus transportation provided for Juniors. If your Junior student needs a ride on 3/4 please contact the school.

  3. As we prepare for next Friday’s (March 4) administration of the School Day SAT for all Junior students here at Tri-West there is some information that we need everyone to review.   A pre-administration session will be held with all Junior students this coming Tuesday, March 1st, as a way to help shorten our testing day on March 4th.

During this pre-administration session there will be two optional sections for our students to complete information for: The Student Search Service and the Student Questionnaire.  Please review the attached document for details about these optional sections.  If you would prefer for your student to OPT OUT of these optional services and sections please check the NO box, print your students name, sign and date the SAT FORM and email the form back to gluntal@hendricks.k12.in.us or you can print the completed form and return to the guidance office no later than Monday February 28th.

We will operate under the condition that all other students have parental consent to opt in and participate in these sections during Tuesday's pre-administration session.

    4. DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS - Please answer your phones this weekend and help our students with scholarship donations. The students will be calling from 10 am to 6pm on Saturday, and 12 pm to 4 pm on Sunday.

     5.   Reminder for seniors:

The deadline to submit the 2022-2023 FAFSA is April 15th!

Since that is Good Friday, and all state and federal offices will be closed, we’re advising students to submit their 2022-23 FAFSA by April 14th.

There are many free resources out there to help families with this super important form:

Great news for your students…more FAFSA filing and 21st Century Scholarship assistance events are scheduled. A heartfelt thank you to Ivy Tech – Greencastle and to MADE@Plainfield (with Ivy Tech – Plainfield) for hosting.

We would appreciate your help spreading the word to families in your area.

These events are open to all high school and college students (and their families) who would like help with the 2022-23 FAFSA and/or for junior and senior Scholars (and their families) to work on their 21st Century Scholarship requirements. Some families stop in just to ask questions and grab info flyers…that’s okay too! Parking is free in the large lots in front of the buildings. Admissions and financial aid reps from Ivy Tech will be available.
