Grant Adam Morris II Memorial Scholarship

At a very young age Grant followed in his father’s footsteps as a lover of all sports.  Grant was a multi-sport athlete for most of his life and could often be found on the baseball field or padded up for a football game.  In addition to sports, Grant often expanded his creative energies in pursuits such as planning, designing and building a course for 4-wheeling or enjoying his favorite outdoor activities like hunting and fishing.

Grant was personable and made friends wherever he was and left an unforgettable mark in this world the short time he was here. His family has created this scholarship in an effort to do the most good in his memory.  This scholarship is available to a Tri-West senior athlete seeking to further their education beyond high school.  Whether it be at a two year or four-year institution or a vocational school funds will be dispersed to the one of Tri - West’s hustlers and dreamers working toward accomplishing their goals.

Anderson University:

Students all across Indiana have a decision to make about their future. Anderson University wants to show them why a visit to campus during College GO! The week could be the catalyst for a bright future.

From September 25 to 29, we’re hosting special visit days where we will automatically consider students like yours for admission and scholarships if they bring their transcript to a campus visit. And if that’s not enough, students could win one of many special giveaways just for visiting.

And, students can earn a $4,000 scholarship just for visiting AU with our new campus visit scholarship!

Greetings from Anderson University!

We are writing today to share with you our most recent news for immediate release.

Anderson University Receives National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Designation

Anderson University has been designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) as announced by the National Security Agency (NSA). This is a prestigious endorsement from a national-level intelligence agency of the United States Department of Defense. AU becomes the second private institution in Indiana and just the sixth member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities to actively hold the designation.

Cybersecurity is a rapidly expanding field and a huge career opportunity for the next generation. The sad thing is — many people don’t know about it, which can make it intimidating. The great news is Anderson University is the Christian university for cybersecurity. The Anderson program can take students with a willingness to learn and prepare them for a fulfilling career in cybersecurity from the ground up.

One of our favorite questions to ask prospective students is simple — do you like playing Minecraft? If the answer is yes, then you have a mind for cybersecurity and you can do it!

To incentivize high school students who are willing to step into the unknown and learn something new, like cybersecurity, Anderson offers generous scholarships to enable you to rise up and meet the call to serve.

●     Future Leaders in Engineering, Computing, and Security Scholarship
●     Engineering Full Scholarship Competition
●     Women in Computer Science Scholarship
●     Honors Program Scholarship
●     First Robotics Scholarship

This year, there are approximately 9,000 cybersecurity jobs available just in Indiana, and that number continues to grow. The number of openings across the United States is shocking, there is a clear shortage of cybersecurity professionals, and Anderson has the program to prepare students to fill the need.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Office of Admissions.

Cedar Education:

Cedar Education, a paying for college resource platform for students. Our goal at Cedar is to connect high school and college students with scholarship opportunities and other financial aid resources to help them navigate the (often complicated) world of paying for higher education.

In addition to the many scholarships out there that require essay, videos, lengthy applications, etc., we thought that students should also make sure to apply to a list of easy scholarships to enter.  By no means should students solely apply to these types of scholarships, but should be done in conjunction with their other scholarship applications.  Below is our list of these easy, no-essay scholarships:

We also offer our own scholarship, which is open to high school students of all years:

Indiana Teaching Scholarships:

Applications for Indiana Teaching Scholarships are Open
Students have until January 31 to apply for a renewable $10,000 scholarship

(INDIANAPOLIS) –  The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is currently accepting applications for the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship, which provides up to $40,000 of financial aid to aspiring teachers.

High-achieving high school and college students who plan to teach in Indiana for at least five years can receive up to $10,000 per year of college (up to $40,000 total) from the scholarship. Students must apply by January 31, 2024, at ScholarTrack.IN.gov.

To expand upon the number of recipients of this scholarship and encourage the educator workforce to be reflective of student demographics, Indiana lawmakers established the Next Generation Hoosier Minority Educators Scholarship during the 2023 legislative session. The award provides Black and Hispanic or Latino recipients with up to $10,000 per year of college and shares the same requirements as the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship. The application is built within the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship application.

To qualify for either scholarship, students must meet one of the following academic requirements:

  • Rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class OR

  • Have a top 20th percentile score on the ACT (25) or SAT (1190) OR

  • Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Students who apply for both the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship and the Next Generation Hoosier Minority Educators Scholarship can only be selected for one of the awards.

“Many of Indiana’s best and brightest future teachers are applicants of these scholarship opportunities,” said Indiana Commissioner for Higher Education Chris Lowery. “The rigorous academic requirements and selective applicant process ensure that we are putting forth high-quality teachers in Indiana’s educator pipeline. We are grateful for the generous investment from the Indiana General Assembly to double the appropriation for the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship and create the parallel Next Generation Hoosier Minority Educators Scholarship.”

Entering its eighth year, the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship is making a difference in building Indiana’s teacher pipeline. Nearly 90 percent of the scholarship recipients from the inaugural 2017 cohort are either continuing their education or are actively teaching in Hoosier classrooms. Additionally, the recipients represent 90 counties and 227 high schools.

To continue earning the scholarship while in college, students must annually file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), earn at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete at least 30 credit hours. Additionally, current college students who apply must be able to use the scholarship for at least two full academic years.

The Commission will notify applicants of their scholarship status via email in April 2024.
