FAFSA

The 2022-2023 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is available online at www.fafsa.gov. Completing the FAFSA is the most important step in the financial aid process and determines eligibility for both state of Indiana and federal aid. The FAFSA requires your 2020 tax return and April 15, 2022 is the state deadline to file the FAFSA. However, many colleges/universities have their own FAFSA filing deadline dates. It is important to check financial aid websites of colleges/universities to ensure their FAFSA deadline is met.

For a FAFSA Checklist and guide on how to create your FSA (Federal Student Aid) ID, visit: www.investedindiana.org/fafsa

Scholarships

Right now, the best place to be looking for scholarships are the financial aid and scholarship websites of the colleges on your list. Most colleges have admission-based scholarships as well as other scholarships they offer. Check the college websites for these opportunities.

College Applications

With November 1st just around the corner, keep in mind that some of our Indiana institutions and out-of-state colleges have an Early Action or priority deadline of November 1st . Not all do, but if you are applying to IU Bloomington, Purdue, Butler, or any other in-state or out-of-state college that has this deadline, don’t wait to submit college applications until close to the deadline. Many colleges use the Common Application in which you can apply to multiple colleges through the Common Application. Visit www.commonapp.org for a list of member colleges.

Transcripts

Most colleges will accept official transcripts to be sent through Parchment. To request your transcripts to be sent, please visit: https://www.parchment.com/ to create an account.

Have a Great Break Everyone!
