North West Hendricks School Corporation announces a vacancy on the school board following the resignation of our Middle Township representative, Abbie Morgan.
The School Board is now accepting applications from qualified residents of Middle Township interested in serving the remainder of the term, which is set to expire on December 31, 2028.
Per Indiana Code 20-23-4-30, the remaining school board members must appoint an individual to fill the board vacancy within 30 days by a majority vote. The appointee must be a resident of Middle Township, Hendricks County, Indiana and shall serve the remainder of the term of the seat being vacated. The appointee must possess the qualifications provided for a regularly elected or appointed governing body member filling the office.
Applicants must:
Be a citizen of the United States
Be a registered voter in Hendricks County
Be at least 21 years of age
Be a resident of Middle Township, Hendricks County, IN
Not be an employee of North West Hendricks School Corporation

Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. EST, January 21, 2026.
Following the application deadline, the school board will hold an executive session to consider applications and identify prospective appointees for further consideration.
In accordance with Indiana's Open Door Law, candidate interviews will be conducted at a public meeting at a date and time to be determined and posted.
