
Cubs PK sang to Deputy Jones as part of their Community Workers unit today.


To work on persuasive writing, Miss Clark's class chose to persuade the teacher to give extra recess. They came up with 3 reasons why they deserved it. Miss Clark was persuaded!



4th graders had a wonderful field trip to the home of James Whitcomb Riley today. They were able to tour his house and participate in an interactive writing class!





Congratulations to Brooklyn A. She is our first 5th grader to reach the halfway point in our Tower of Book challenge! Brooklyn read and summarized twenty chapter books! Way to go, Brooklyn!


NSES 3rd grade enjoyed spending the day at The Children’s Museum. They participated in Engineering day and used the design process to create many projects.





Kindergarten students had a great field trip to Chandler's Farm this week. What a great wrap up to their Apple and Pumpkin units!




North Salem Staff took part in Stop the Bleed training after school today. Special thanks to Mr. Scott Klinger and the North Salem Volunteer Fire Department for supporting our team !





5th grade students were guest readers in various classrooms throughout the building to read about the constitution as we celebrate Constitution Day. Great job 5th graders!



It is Constitution Day! Our 5th graders have spoke on the announcements all week sharing interesting facts about the constitution to help better educate us all. Thank you NSES 5th graders!


NSES 4th grade is working on animal structures and adaptations. They tested out different bird “beaks” to see how hard or how easy it would be for a bird to eat various foods!





Our third graders put their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to the test by building the tallest towers using only index cards! They worked together creatively, learned from each other, and discovered that collaboration makes their ideas stronger






Kindergarten finished off Fairy Tale week with a trip to Once Upon a Time Land where we got clues to save the princess by completing 5 different STEM challenges.






Miss Clark's 2nd graders created collages to help them think of topics while writing independently.





North Salem Elementary School is looking to hire an Instructional Assistant and an evening custodian. Interested parties should see the school website for job descriptions and the application process.
We are also always looking for substitute teachers and substitute custodians too!

We had a great first day of school at NSES! From car rider drop off, to bus drop off, to learning all about our classrooms!




Two North Salem 4th graders made it to the Grand Drive at the Indiana State Fair this weekend! Congrats to Luke H. and Gabe B.! We are super proud of you!


Just a reminder that North Salem Elementary will have their annual Back To School Open House on Thursday, July 31st from 5-6pm. Come and meet your teacher, see your classroom, check out a school bus, and even enjoy the Kona Ice Truck that PTO has arranged.

NSES Kindergarten is having a GLOW-Up day! End of the year activities are the BEST!



Our TWHS Grads enjoying a final tour of their elementary school. Seniors relived some great memories at NSES, including the lunchroom, the library, and even the playground. They even found time for a quick kickball game!
